Travel to North East I was leaving the real North East.
Actually when I started walking in the north east, Sivasagar was my first major stoppage. Where I stopped when I started to google about it, a lot of things came to know about it. And I and Akanksha decided to stay there. However, Akanksha said that we should move forward. But I stuck to my stubbornness and later gave up and agreed to stay with me.
Actually today we say Assam is asom in real. And the meaning of Assam which we were taught in schools was ashtml dharti. But that does not mean it. Asom means a royal dynasty here. The Asom dynasty ruled here for about 600 years. And when the Mughals were trying to capture the whole of India, then it was the asom dynasty that kept their land, ie Assam.
Travel to North East and asom dynasty
We started with shiv sagar. There are also many temples here. We decided to go to a Shiva temple first. This Shiva temple is one of the largest Shiva temples in our India and people here say that it is the highest Shiva temple in our country. However I do not want to get into a debate as to whether there is an elevated Shiva temple or not. But it is so sure that it is made of stones up to a very high height and its bricks are at the end. However, it is now visible because its repair work is going on. It is followed by the Shiv Sagar pond. The pond is large. So we reached here and we visited the temple. At the same time, just in front of the temple you will find here in white pigeon. When we reached the temple so early in the morning, there was no one there. However, you will find many men and women jogging there.
History of shiv Sagar
At the same time let me tell you another story about Sivasagar. It was the early capital of the Asom dynasty. Which he built here. Apart from this you will also find a palace at Yaha. Which was of the asom raj dynasty. It is made up of three floors. And the ground below is also made of three floors. However, now the movement of common people in the underground part is restricted.

We now decided to travel further from here. As soon as we sat down, we saw one more thing which was written on a board, Chirandev. Actually Chirandev was also the capital of the Asom dynasty. And while I was riding a bike. So it was running at a speed of about 70 kilometers per hour. So I could not read this name. But Akanksha, sitting behind me, read the name. Akanksha then told me that this look is written by Chirandev. Although I had gone much further than this, when I asked him where this name was written. So he told it a little back. In such a situation, we went and there we also liked some things. We proceeded towards Dev Maidan, where we took two tickets of 30 ₹ 30. However, if you are visiting from abroad, then this ticket costs you around ₹ 150. There were two separate gates of Assam Archeology Department and Central Archeology Department. When we arrived there so early in the morning, there was almost no one there. When we reached there, we saw about 45 dome mounds in front of us. There was a building in front of us which was of asom rajvansh. When we came out of the palace, we decided to learn about the dome. So asked a person sitting there, he told that this dome is the tomb of the kings of the Asom dynasty. And there is a room-like structure. He said that this is also a similar structure as the Egyptian pyramids are built.
However at the same time the person also told us that the archeology department here does not take such care of these things. As much as in North India. When I told him that we do not have all this, he told that buildings like Taj Mahal, Red Fort are well taken care of. But I explained to him that this happens with some buildings. The condition of the rest of the archeology related things is similar.
Now when I think of Shiva Sagar and Chirandev’s visit, I think that the decision to stop there was not so wrong. Because I got to know a lot about Aseem i.e. Assam. We read everything about Mughals in our books. But we are not taught anything about a dynasty that struggled with the Mughals for nearly 600 years. And even the British could not reach even.
